The Ridgewood Jazz Festival launches its mini-fest annual summer concert this August 27, 2026, at NuBlu in the Lower East Side of New York City. A sister concert compared to the annual multi-day festival that is held annually in April, this concert will feature three acts that will span contemporary jazz, fusion and beyond.
Beginning with rising star duo and Mack Avenue recording artists, Zohar and Adam. Following Zohar and Adam, Kumite will take the stage. The band consists of veterans of the NY music scene, bassist Michael Feinburg, guitarist Max Light, keyboardist Eden Ladin and drummer Dana Hawkins, featuring special guest saxophonist, Tivon Pennicott. Kumite’s music has been described as “jazz adjacent, heavy-hitting fusion with West African overtones.”
The evening will conclude with legendary drummer and artist, Nate Wood. Perhaps his drumming is most notably known for his work with the band Kneebody. Wood will perform his solo act FOUR, where he acts as a one man band, playing everything including drums, bass, synth, guitar and vocals.

Michael Feinburg, Founder of the Ridgewood Jazz Festival says,
“I’m really excited to present our second annual summer mini fest. This year we’re partnering with one of our favorite indie venues Nublu and presenting three amazing artists. Headlining the show is Nate Wood ‘four’ an incredible dark electro funk pop band. What’s most remarkable about this band is that Nate plays drums, synth, bass, drums and vocals all at the same time - no samples. Nate was our opener at our inaugural RJF in 2025 and continued to be a huge supporter of our festival and nonprofit.”
